Welcome to the Levittown/Willingboro Anniversary Website. This year, our Township is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Levittown NJ, currently, known as Willingboro. Theoretically, Levittown NJ, the third 'Levittown' (after Levittown NY and Levittown PA), came into existence on June 7, 1958, when it opened for sales, although the actual name of the municipality was Willingboro. It would not officially change to Levittown until passage by voter referendum November 1959, with a margin of 80 votes. The name was restored back to Willingboro in 1963, also by referendum, most probably to avoid confusion with Levittown, PA, less than twelve miles north.

The Anniversary Committee is up and running, and auxillary committees are now forming; plans are developing for observance and celebration of the Township's 50th anniversary throughout the year.

Our Mission

The 'Celebrate Levittown/Willingboro' mission is to enhance the quality of life in the Willingboro community, now and for generations to come, by providing service to all segments of the community; promoting the vitality of nonprofit organizations and local businesses, fostering volunteerism and serving as a vital resource that promotes and enhances community activities including but not limited to those civic, cultural, and educational activities that celebrate the past, present and future of Levittown/Willingboro.
